Kami Pemeduli - My contribution to the community

Dedicated to OGDC part-timers

Part of my project during the fasting month is to donate barang-barang keperluan dapur to fakir-fakir miskin in Seria & Kuala Belait. The project is not part of OGDC activities but rather my initiative in teaching the younger generation the facts of life;is used to life of luxury and extravagant but neglecting those who are unfortunate.

Info: This year we have collected about B$400.00 from the sales of biscuits and donation from generous individuals. The barang2 keperluan dapur are distributed to about 7 families from both Seria and Kuala Belait.

People always forget that our life can always change in a matter of second. Just like a wheel, sometime its up sometime its down. The same with us, we can be rich and happy today but we can be sad and poor tomorrow.

We need to learn to appreciate our parents, relatives and friends. Learn and develop yourself, be proactive, learn all the necessary skills to equiped yourself for your future and importantly be caring and passionate. (This is also a reminder for myself)

Remember, these are our fellow Bruneian regardless of race or religion, they needs our support, sympathy and care. If it is not you, who else?

My sincere thanks to Penghulu mukim Seria and Ketua Kg. Mumong, Kuala Belait and those who generously donates for this good cause.

"Open up your eyes and learn from the people around you"

They house they are staying are ehsan of Jabatan Bandaran, Kuala Belait. Preventing these people living on the street.

There's an old lady with no children and family. She's been look after by her neighbour.

Is, don't get too defensive with your readers. Remember you only started blogging less than a week... hehee A critic is always a good thing!

Btw a message to the anonymous, whatever it is, 'it's the thoughts that counts'... FYI, there are over 3,000 people declared poor in Belait itself.. i guess in various form. So generousity starts a long way..

Princess nashwa...ukan defensive but the truth. Actually anonymous is right. At first glance how can a fakir miskin have all those things..TV, sofas, etc. That's what I though before until I sit and talk to them.

just to be clear and so that there is no confusion;
"Dalam fiqih, dibedakan antara istilah Fakir dan Miskin. Menurut pengertian syara’, Fakir adalah orang yang tidak mempunyai kecukupan harta untuk memenuhi keperluanan pokoknya seperti makanan, pakaian dan tempat tinggal. Sedangkan Miskin adalah orang yang sama sekali tidak mempunyai apa-apa."
i'm not trying to be on anyone's side but i think it's good that we are all aware of the meaning of fakir & miskin so as not to salahgunakan the word. a learning point don't you think Is?
no offence! =)

eheheh People come in various facade. Keep up the charity work Isk!Anyways, there'll be a potential issue in Brunei in the coming years if the Bruneians don't know how to manage their finance ( i.e by savings!) and just rely on their TAP since there will be no pensions like the older generation.
