This afternoon Penghulu Mukim Seria and I visited a family in Kg. Baru, Seria. The family (which comprise of grandfather, son, daughters and granddaugters) live in a stilt wooden house built 44 years ago. It was quiet sad...seeing our own Bruneian living in a deploring condition.....
..wooden stairs leading to the kitchen. Flooded during heavy rainI was told that ABDB helps to rebuilt the kitchen and the building materials was supplied by District Office but unfortunately the project was stopped due to lack of funds to purchase building materials...
Rear view of the house
The kitchen. One of the fridge is no longer functioning and only used as a storage
The kitchen...
The zinc roof hasnt been replace since it was first constructed and constantly leaking during heavy downpour
Electrical wiring..

A place to take shower

A compassionate society is one which cares for the less fortunate who are in need. Every citizen should be assisted in their effort to attain the means and opportunities for a decent and dignified living. Persons facing hardships are given help to tide them over a difficult period as well as to regain their financial independence. This will enable them to continue to contribute positively to the nation.
What can we do?
1. Collectively we can set-up fund to purchase building materials eg. woods, roofing, etc
2. Will seek the help of ABDB to continue their work, where they have left....
