Masih ada yang sayang!

Today, with a few friends and accompanied by Ketua Kg. Mumong, Hj Yusuf Dulamin we distribute barang-barang keperluan dapur for the needy at Kg. Mumong, Kuala Belait. Usually, we distribute the barang2 dapur to fakir miskin during the middle of Ramadhan but due to work commitments have to do this today...I have been doing charity works for couple of years, if I'm not mistaken we started it in 2000 right up till now. After all these years boleh di katakan masak dengan kerenah dan problems that are faced by the community...but no matter how strong you are... we are still overpowered by our emotions i.e our love, compassion and care for our fellow humans and certainly...our Bruneians...

Amongst the 5 families we visited...I'm really touched by the condition of the house of the two families.....

Family 1
The house is situated in Kg. Mumong, spg 430...a family of 3, father, mother and a 19 years old son. The dad was unemployed and working odd jobs to support the family. The mum 61 years old, a house wife and does not earn any income. The son, 19 years old.. quit school when he's in form 3 and now works with a private company in Seria. Their combine income cannot help... rebuild their house...

Liza from KB Happening interviewed the mother...she's on a wheel chairs for quite sometime

the ceiling...in appalling conditions. In a brink of collapse

Bed rooms where the father, mother & son sleep

The kitchen

they do what they can manage...to support themselves. The most important thing is to have a house they can called home.

The kitchen is in terrible state...

The kitchen floor - as years gone by the wooden floor eaten by termites..

From what I can gathered from the Ketua Kg...there have been visits by various govt agencies; promising to help but till now nothing materialise. This family does not ask for much...what they wanted is 'help' to fixed their house...

Family 2

Located in front of Jalan Singa Menteri, Kg. Mumong and just a stone throw away from Complex Sukan Mumong...those who are travelling from seria to KB and vice versa cant miss desolated wooden house.

The family consist of the dad (37 years old, now working with Jabatan Bandaran, Kuala Belait as a grass cutter), the mum (unemployed) and their 7 little children (4 girls & 3 boys). Been living in the house since 2003/4 after retiring from ABDB. For your info...they are born and breed Bruneian...(more info. by Liza Mohd)

if looking at the house is sad enough...try to going inside...

The living room also serve as the dining room and bedroom

The kitchen...

The veranda...

The mum and her young child

View from the back of the house...

Side view of the house...in couple of weeks or even months the house will certainly collapse

When other family have toilet in their house but for this family the toilet is situated at the far end of the house.

The dad ...did mentioned that he had applied for housing either perumahan or barrack but until now there's no response ! and there's been visits by various agencies and so far nothing!...isnt that typical!!!!

One wrong move...you'll end-up swimming for your life...

Been reading your blog since the 3 siblings posts. Anyhoo, I read the paper few days ago, I read about the family in Mumong and so I once again open up ur blog, knowing that there will be more stories about it. (of course with Liza's blog also)

Anyways, let's pray and hope that somebody will "buka mata" and be more prihatin to them. This year alone, mcm banyak sudah we encountered these cases, not forgetting, cases in the hospital also, it's not also the kids yg kena tnggalkan.. the orang tua also kena tinggalkan by his/her kids. Why oh why..

p/s:
Your aunt's house in Sinaut, just beside my house :) .. it's on the way jalan to kubur isn't it?
