Masih ada yang sayang & AAC team building workshop

Another buzy weekend...I had been running errands trying to get stuffs done or rather getting info how to get things done...heheeh. I did mentioned to the family (Dyg. Jonanie) I /we will try my/our best to help them out.

My 1st stop this morning is to rumah bahagia Eric Goh....

I was told, Ayu Marlina did received kabajikan allowances until the age of 12. But once she reached 12 years old, the allowance was stopped.. not sure why. The family did apply for kabajikan couples of years back that is when Dyg. Jonanie was still working but unfortunately her application was unsuccessful. Reason, she was working at that time.

I did get hold of the borang hijau - the purpose of the borang hijau is to registered Ayu Marlina as orang kurang upaya. I asked if she's registered or not as orang kurang upaya but unfortunately she's not. PS: the borang does not mean that she will get allowance from kebajikan but the as a prove that she's disable and from there on will try to find her job, etc...

Thanks to Rumah Bahagia Eric Goh for given me advise & direction on what to do next...thanks a million.

Jabatan Pemembanguanan Masyarakat Cawangan Belait

Had a lenghtly discussion with JAPEM's officer on how to get kebajikan allowances for Dyg. Johanie and her daughter Ayu. The process is simple...what they have to do is write a letter to JAPEM and endorsed by ketua kampung. From there officers from JAPEM will investigate this matter for further action.

I did enquire if Dyg. Johanie is registered with JAPEM, the answer was NO. Actually, there are more goin' on than meets the eyes. Was told that, Dyg. Johanie did submit a letter to JAPEM Belait but unfortunately the letter does not reach them. reason..its still a question mark. People are pointing fingers as to why....I am not goin' to debate further on this.

From my part, will write another letter on her behalf and submit to JAPEM Belait..insyallah, will do the write up later.
one for Dyg. Johanie and the other for Ayu..(really need help with the letter). Wish Liza Mohd is here...to help me out - Now, she's enjoying herself in KL on a shopping spree...ehehehehh.

Visited the family after my fact finding mission at JAPEM Belait. Talk to Ayu on how to fill-in the application form. While, I was there 2 chinese ladies came and donate barang-barang keperluan dapur to the family. Really, proud to be a Bruneian. If you read or hear about a family in need regardless of their race or religion there're people out there willing to lend a helping hand and give moral support.....

AAC Fire Fighting Awareness Workshop

Today, I'm trying to juggle between activities..in the morning busy trying to sort things out and in the afternoon coordinating AAC Fire Fighting Awareness Workshop with Bomba Shell. Firstly, pick-up the cadets and sent them to Bomba Shell. These boys are group of volunteers helping out the fire officers in conducting the activities...

About 85 teachers attended the workshop...all eager to dive in into the world of fire fighting. The workshop organised by Anthony Abell College (AAC), Seria in collaboration with Brunei Shell Fire Services, aims to create awareness amongst teachers on the dangers of fire and on how to handle emergency situations and to provide teachers with a hands-on experience on firefighting activities with the emphasis on safety.

Teachers will have a first-hand look on the activities carry out by Bomba Brunei Shell fire fighters in dealing with domestic fire and also other emergency situations. The workshop will also helps to strengthen teamwork and create synergies the fire fighting activities.

The teachers are divided into 6 groups of 12 or 13 teachers. Each group have the opportunities to
to participate in the 6 activities organised by Bomba Shell..

Briefing by officers from Bomba Shell...

During the early afternoon...teachers have to brave the rain to complete their tasks.

hmmmm....potential fire fighters

One of the activities...teachers are required to save injured personal (dummy) from a burning house...Interestingly, ladies' teacher are really eager to participate...

Showing the signs, we survived the smoke house

transporting injured person...on a stretcher. Its not as easy as it seems. Team work is important to ensure the survival of the dummy.. :)

Before the start of any activities, teachers are give a tool box talk on safety

Putting on the breathing apparatus (BA) before venturing to the smoke house.

As part of the exercise, teachers were taught on how to use the fire hose. For the purpose of this exercise, they are require to fill-up the drum with water.

We are the future women fire fighters..hahahahah

Cikgu Rahagi, AAC's Principal...ensuring that the dummy does not escape...hahahh

Orang kuat Bomba Shell...without them the workshop wont be conduct successfully

Exchange of souvenirs between AAC and Bomba Shell
